Around one thousand Austrian companies continue to operate in Ukraine, contributing to the country’s reconstruction and recovery.

This was stated by Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

“My message today is simple: Ukraine’s reconstruction will not be a return to the past. It will be an investment in the future,” the Chancellor emphasized.

According to him, Austria is ready to share its know-how, innovation, and experience. He noted that Vienna was one of Kyiv’s most important economic partners even before the war. Austrian companies entered the Ukrainian market early and have remained despite difficult circumstances.

“Today, around 1,000 companies are operating in Ukraine, creating 30,000 jobs. This commitment shows that our solidarity is built through long-term engagement,” Stocker said.

He added that Austrian businesses have extensive experience in sectors that will shape Ukraine’s future, including sustainable and decentralized energy systems, infrastructure, financial services, and modern technologies.

The Austrian head of government also announced that the URC 2028 will be held in Vienna.

As reported by Ukrinform, URC 2027 is scheduled to take place in Tallinn, Estonia.
