
The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, has approved bills extending martial law and general mobilization for another three months, starting from November 5.
According to an Ukrinform correspondent, the bill “On Approval of the Presidential Decree ‘On the Extension of Martial Law in Ukraine'” (No. 14128) was supported by 317 lawmakers.
Meanwhile, the bill “On Approval of the Presidential Decree ‘On the Extension of General Mobilization'” (No. 14129) received 315 votes in favor.
As a result, the period of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine has been extended until February 3, 2026.
On February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. On that same day, martial law was introduced, and general mobilization was declared – initially set to last until March 26.
Since then, the parliament has voted to extend martial law and general mobilization 17 times.
