Kyiv and Warsaw have signed a letter of intent to enhance cooperation between their defense industries.
The announcement was made by Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on social media platform X, according to Ukrinform.
“From the very first days of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, we have supported our neighbors. Poland was the first to welcome and shelter Ukrainian citizens. Today marks another step in our cooperation: I signed a letter of intent with Ukraine’s Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal on collaboration between our defense industries. We must use the potential of our companies to build a strong foundation for our shared security,” Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that Ukraine and Poland agreed to establish a joint task force focused on unmanned aerial systems.
While Warsaw has not yet joined the PURL initiative for joint arms procurement for Ukraine, it has not ruled out doing so in the future.
