He emphasized that heavy fighting continues on the front, but the Russian forces have been unable to make significant advances as Russian President Vladimir Putin had expected when announcing the “spring–summer offensive.”

“Therefore, massive night attacks by drones and missiles, the destruction of energy infrastructure and residential buildings in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro — this is the only effective instrument of waging war that remains to Russia,” the post says.

Podolyak said that Russia’s attitude toward the war will change when explosions begin to be heard in the Central Federal District. He added that “Moscow is partying” while explosions are going off “somewhere in Belgorod.”

“When the number of such strikes increases, so does their destructive power and the social cost of the war for the population of Russia,” he stressed.

The adviser to the head of the Office of the President noted that for this, Ukraine needs long-range Tomahawk missiles, the Flamingo, or heavy drones.

Tomahawks for Ukraine

People in the circle of US President Donald Trump are concerned about the possible loss of control over Ukraine’s use of Tomahawk missiles in the event they are transferred.

Overall, Kyiv has raised the issue of supplying long-range weapons to Ukraine several times over the past year. While this topic was being actively discussed, Trump stated that he had “almost made a decision” on transferring Tomahawks to Ukraine.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not disclosed whether Ukraine has officially requested the supply of Tomahawks. According to media reports, he discussed this issue in the United States with American officials.

The aggressor state has already responded to these reports. In particular, the Russian leader’s entourage threatened a “serious escalation” if long-range missiles are transferred to Kyiv.

According to Putin, transferring Tomahawks to Ukraine would worsen the “positive prospects in relations” between the two countries that had been emerging.
