Today, October 23, hourly electricity outage schedules are being implemented from 07:00 to 23:00 across 12 regions of Ukraine. New Russian strikes have caused electricity disruptions in the Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions.

That is according to a statement from Ukrenergo, Ukraine’s national grid operator, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Due to the impact of previous Russian strikes, including the large-scale missile and drone attack on the power system on October 22, hourly electricity outage schedules involving up to three simultaneous groups are being implemented today from 07:00 to 23:00 across twelve regions. Power consumption limits for industrial and commercial users are also being applied in these areas,” the statement reads.

Ukrenergo confirmed that consumers in the Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions were without power as of Thursday morning. Repair crews are working to restore damaged equipment as quickly as possible.

Electricity consumption at 06:00 on Thursday matched the previous day’s level. However, due to the outage schedules, peak daily consumption on October 22 was 7.1% lower than on October 21.

“The need for energy conservation remains critical. If you currently have electricity, please minimize the use of high-power appliances until 23:00,” Ukrenergo urged.

As previously reported, Russia launched a large-scale overnight attack on October 22 targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Generation facilities, as well as distribution and transmission systems, were hit, prompting emergency power outages nationwide.
