Poland has signed an agreement with eight Nordic and Baltic countries to expand a training facility – Camp Jomsborg – at the Land Forces Training Center in Nowa Demba-Lipa. The center will host training for NATO and Ukrainian military personnel on the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, announced the signing of the agreement on the social media platform X, according to Ukrinform.

“We have signed an agreement with Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland on the expansion of the Nordic-Baltic training center in Poland. Among other places, we are conducting training missions for Ukrainian troops in Nowa Deba-Lipa. Our soldiers, along with Ukrainian instructors, will participate in drone training there,” Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote.

With Norway’s support, a training center for the Ukrainian army was opened in southeastern Poland, near the Ukrainian border. The facility can accommodate up to 1,200 Ukrainian servicemembers at a time.

While Warsaw has not yet joined the PURL initiative for joint weapons procurement for Ukraine, it has not ruled out doing so in the future.
