The intensive work being done by Ukrainian delegations to Washington this week has created a “whole new” format of interaction, where issues are actively being worked out on the spot in several directions at once: from economy and military cooperation to an end to the war.
This came from Ukraine’s US Ambassador Olha Stefanishyna in an exclusive comment to Ukrinform.
“This week is Ukraine’s week. We have several Ukrainian delegations working there to maximize the effect from the leaders’ meeting upcoming this Friday,” the ambassador said.
A “whole new format” of interaction is currently taking shape, she said, adding, “Military teams have been working for two weeks now, the Prime Minister is working with financial partners to coordinate efforts; the economic and energy delegations are focusing on mitigating the consequences of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure by mobilizing US involvement in gas procurements”.

Besides, according to Ambassador Stefanishyna, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov is working with the defense industry in the United States. At the same time, the Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak arrived in Washington a few days ahead of the meeting between the two presidents “to prepare the ground for discussing an end to the war.”
As Ukrinform reported on Monday, Volodymyr Zelensky announced his plans to meet with Donald Trump in Washington on Friday. Zelensky said he intends to suggest a series of steps that would contribute to achieving peace, and discuss their sequence.
