Statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that “an immediate ceasefire would leave most of Ukraine under Nazi rule” are typical Kremlin manipulation.
According to Ukrinform, the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reports this in Telegram.
“Statements by the Russian Foreign Minister that ‘immediate ceasefire will leave most of Ukraine under Nazi rule’ are a typical Kremlin manipulation. Such a narrative is designed to justify the aggression of the Russian Federation, disrupt diplomatic initiatives, and shift the responsibility for the continuation of the war to the victim of an attack”, the report says.
As noted, accusing Ukraine of “Nazism” is a long-standing fake label used to demoralize international support and legitimize aggression. This is another demonstration of the Russian Federation’s unpreparedness for peace: the Kremlin is trying to impose “peace on the terms of the aggressor”. Ukraine and partners support a just peace, while Russia does not want it, the CCD noted.
As Ukrinform reported, the meeting of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, scheduled for this week, has been postponed.
