Russian troops are deliberately shelling the Kherson Regional Local Lore Museum: they destroyed one-third of the building, breached the roof, and damaged the walls.
This was reported on Facebook by the Kherson Regional Local Lore Museum, according to Ukrinform.
“Putin’s vandals have been targeting the Kherson Regional Local Lore Museum for the past three weeks. This unique center of history and memory of the Ukrainian South has suffered extensive damage; one-third of the building has been destroyed, the roof has been breached, and the walls have been damaged,” the statement said.
The museum recalled that during the temporary occupation, thousands of unique exhibits of Ukrainian history and culture were stolen from the museum.
“We want to emphasize that the destruction of the museum is not accidental, but part of a systematic policy of cultural terror. We appeal to the international community to do everything possible to prevent the destruction of historical sites in Kherson,” the statement emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, in July, Russian troops shelled and destroyed one of the most famous buildings in Kherson, the City Assembly building, which was built in the 1860s.
