Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, has inspected a newly built shelter at an educational institution in Vyshhorod.
He reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
According to Kalashnyk, the new shelter meets the highest safety and comfort standards and can accommodate up to 210 people. It is also fully accessible.
“This shelter is part of a large-scale, systematic effort we are carrying out across the entire Kyiv region,” Kalashnyk said.
He noted that the project was implemented through co-financing from state and local budgets.
Currently, 1,298 shelters have been set up in educational institutions across the Kyiv region, with 17 more under construction. Major repairs are underway at 23 sites.
Since the beginning of this year, six new shelters have been completed, 15 civil protection facilities renovated, and repairs carried out at 56 institutions.
This year, 11 new investment projects worth nearly UAH 757 million are also being implemented with co-financing from the state budget, including UAH 243 million from regional and local budgets.
