One of Zaporizhzhia’s oldest historic buildings, the former Mennonite girls’ school, sustained significant damage in a Russian attack on the city on Saturday.

According to Ukrinform, Zaporizhzhia City Council Secretary Rehina Kharchenko reported this on Telegram.

“As a result of today’s Russian attack, the Mennonite girls’ school building in the Verkhnia Khortytsia neighborhood, one of Zaporizhzhia’s oldest historic structures, was damaged,” the statement said.

The building was constructed in 1904. It has remained well preserved to this day and is recognized as an architectural landmark and an important part of the city’s historical heritage.
