
There are 16,700 civilians remaining in the active combat zone in Donetsk Oblast.
This was announced during an online briefing by Dmytro Petlin, head of the Department of Civil Protection, Mobilization, and Defense of Donetsk Oblast, which is responsible for operational and emergency services, communications, alerts, and public information, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“There are 16,700 civilians remaining in settlements classified as active combat zones, which are settlements in 20 communities,” Petlin said.
There are no children in these areas.
According to Petlin, more than 1,304,000 civilians have already been evacuated from settlements in Donetsk Oblast controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, of whom more than 199,000 are children and more than 47,000 are persons with disabilities.
Over the past week, more than 500 people have left the region, including 186 children.
There are currently 205,500 civilians remaining in the region controlled by Ukraine, including nearly 14,200 children.
As reported, the mandatory evacuation of civilians in the Donetsk region has been ongoing since August 2, 2022.
