
In the Donetsk region, 15,400 civilians remain in the active combat zone, none of whom are children.
This was announced at an online briefing by Dmytro Petlin, head of the Department of Civil Protection, Mobilization, and Defense of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“There are about 198,500 civilians remaining in the territory of Donetsk region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. Of these, 15,400 are in areas of active combat operations, which include settlements in 20 communities,” Petlin said, noting that there are no children in these areas.
According to him, since February 2022, more than 1,314,000 civilians have been evacuated from settlements in Donetsk region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, including more than 201,000 children and more than 47,000 people with disabilities.
Over the past week, more than 1,300 people have left Donetsk region for safer regions.
As reported, mandatory evacuation of the civilian population has been ongoing in Donetsk region since August 2, 2022.
