President Volodymyr Zelensky met with graduates and cadets of the Naval Forces Institute in Odesa and discussed with them the development of a modern navy and maritime drones.
According to Ukrinform, Zelensky announced this on Facebook.
The president announced that he had signed a decree establishing a modern Naval Academy in Odesa. According to him, it is to become an institution that combines modern teaching methods, the existing experience of the Ukrainian army, and a strong material and military infrastructure.
Zelensky also spoke about the creation of the Ukrainian National Pantheon. He is convinced that it will certainly include all important historical figures, including those involved in the creation of the Ukrainian Navy.

“Thank you for this meeting and our candid conversation. Thank you to each and every one of you who has chosen a career in the naval service. The naval component is crucial. The Black Sea is currently protected by our Armed Forces, our Navy, and, without a doubt, this is a wealth of experience that no one else in the world possesses,” Zelensky emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the eve of Ukrainian Navy Day, Zelensky honored Navy servicemembers and announced the establishment of a new Naval Academy in Odesa.
