To make Russia stop the terror, Ukraine’s partners need to put pressure on the aggressor country’s energy resources, oil fleet, and financial system.
The President of Ukraine stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reported.
“Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the Russian airstrike are ongoing in Sumy. The Russians used guided aerial bombs against ordinary people in the city center. There may still be people trapped under the rubble of an apartment building. Tragically, as of now, four people have been confirmed killed, including a child,” the head of state said, expressing condolences to the families and loved ones.
Another 27 people were injured, including six children. Many of them suffered serious injuries, Zelensky added.
He recalled that over the past day the Russians struck Zaporizhzhia, where two people were killed in a drone attack and six others were injured, including a child.
In addition, an enemy FPV drone attacked Kharkiv, where there were also injured people. Communities in the Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Donetsk regions were under fire.
“It is essential that our partners pressure Russia so that this terror comes to an end. Those Russia will listen to are, without a doubt, the United States, other G7 and G20 countries, and Europe. We must remember that Europe has tools it can use to pressure this aggressor,” the President stressed.
He explained that this is primarily about pressure on its energy resources, oil fleet, and the aggressor’s financial system.
“We must also take further steps to strengthen our defense, first and foremost our air defense,” Zelensky concluded, expressing gratitude to every leader “who remains active and does not waste a single day.”
As Ukrinform reported, in Zaporizhzhia two men were killed and more than 20 people were injured as a result of Russian attacks on July 3.
