The NORSI oil refinery in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region suspended oil processing after coming under attack by Ukrainian drones on July 2.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Reuters.
Two industry sources told Reuters that NORSI (Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez), Russia’s fourth-largest oil refinery and the country’s second-largest gasoline producer, has become the latest refinery to halt crude processing following Thursday’s drone strike.
“Ukraine’s attacks on Russian oil refineries, launched in response to Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, have forced the world’s third-largest oil producer to import gasoline, including from India,” Reuters reported.
On Thursday, the Russian government authorized oil refineries to produce gasoline and diesel fuel with a higher sulfur content through the end of the year, according to a government decree.
As reported by Ukrinform, Russian President Vladimir Putin recently acknowledged for the first time that Russians and Russian businesses are facing difficulties purchasing gasoline.
