Iranian media have circulated photos and videos allegedly showing debris from the downed aircraft, including what appears to be an ejection seat.
Preliminary analysis of the wreckage suggests the aircraft may have been an F-15 fighter jet.
The fate of the pilot and weapons systems officer remains unknown, and search operations are ongoing.
US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the US-Israeli war campaign against Iran was almost complete but that the country would be hit hard over the next two to three weeks as Washington pressed toward its military objectives.

The war’s “core strategic objectives are nearing completion,” he said, cautioning however, that “we are going to hit them, extremely hard, over the next two to three weeks.”
