The State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine has begun implementing projects using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies, Deputy Head of the Agency for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization Roman Komendant announced.
“The Agency is carrying out its first full-scale BIM model in the reconstruction of the Yagodyn automobile border checkpoint. The BIM requirement was included in the tender conditions,” he told Interfax-Ukraine.
Looking ahead, the Agency’s goal is to apply BIM to all construction, reconstruction, and major repair projects.
“We have already selected about ten projects together with the restoration services. These include linear infrastructure, civil construction, and weigh-in-motion complexes… We plan to launch them this year. The number of projects will depend on available funding,” Komendant said.
As reported earlier, in July 2022 the Verkhovna Rada passed in the first reading draft law No. 6383, which provides for the introduction of BIM technologies at all stages of the life cycle of construction projects.
