Suspilne has announced that 374 songs from 369 artists have been received for Vidbir 2025.
A total of 369 artists have applied to represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. 232 soloists have applied, while 72 bands are also in the running for the competition. Applications were received from Ukraine, France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Based on the results of the national preliminary selection, a longlist of participants will be formed. These – up to 20 performers – will continue to participate in the National Selection. Longlisted participants must pass an audition, personal participation in which is mandatory. According to the results of the audition, a list of finalists will be chosen by December 20, which will include up to 9 performers.
Among the participants of the longlist who do not make it to the list of finalists, a ranking online vote will be held, it will determine one more participant of the final. The full list of finalists will be published by January 17.
The final of the National Selection will take place in February. The winner of the selection will be determined based on the results of the jury and audience voting, and will have the chance to represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.
alyona alyona and Jerry Heil represented Ukraine at this 2024 Eurovision Song Contest with their song “Teresa & Maria”. The duo finished in 3rd place with a total of 453 points.
Ukraine is the only participating country that enjoys a 100% qualification record in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2024 they have also achieved the best result since 2002 from the dreaded 2nd spot in the Grand Final running order.
