The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, supported by the Government of Japan, has launched the Sustainable Business Platform. Academy, an educational initiative offering Ukrainian entrepreneurs the skills and knowledge they need to develop their businesses amid today’s challenges. The initiative’s first phase includes four online courses:
1) Digital Solutions for Business Resilience, in partnership with WebPromoExperts – a course teaching entrepreneurs to apply digital tools to enhance business stability during crises.
2) LEAN Management, in partnership with Lean Institute Ukraine – an intensive course on adopting LEAN methodology for effective resource management and cost reduction.
3) Energy Resilience for Business, in partnership with Greencubator – focused on implementing eco-friendly and energy-efficient solutions.
4) Export Readiness for Small and Medium enterprises, in partnership with Ukrposhta – an intensive course providing tools for entering international markets and developing export capabilities.
The Resilient Business Academy is intended to reach at least 800 entrepreneurs across Ukraine, helping them to improve business strategies for greater resilience and success. UNDP and its partners – WebPromoExperts, Lean Institute Ukraine, Ukrposhta and Greencubator – have joined forces to create a training platform that empowers entrepreneurs to thrive amid uncertainty.
Jaco Cilliers, UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine, emphasized the valuable role of the Resilient Business Academy in building a robust business environment in Ukraine. “This initiative is equipping entrepreneurs with critical skills and offers new opportunities, granting access to advanced knowledge in fields crucial to economic resilience,” he said. “Each course is carefully designed to address business needs and the challenges Ukrainians face every day.”
Background
According to UNDP research, approximately 70 percent of Ukrainian entrepreneurs report a lack of knowledge and skills to achieve business goals, especially in the context of war. The “Resilient Business Platform. Academy”, created by UNDP under the “Transformational Recovery for Human Security in Ukraine” project with financial support from the Government of Japan, addresses this challenge through specialized courses and practical training to support businesses in difficult times.
