Visit announced earlier this week
Tusk had announced plans to travel to Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Over the next few days, I will be in Kyiv at Zelensky’s invitation. At this critical time, Ukraine cannot be left completely alone,” Tusk wrote in a Feb. 2 post on X.
Previous visit followed return to office
Tusk last visited Kyiv on Jan. 22, 2024, when he traveled to the Ukrainian capital for talks with Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials.

The visit came shortly after Tusk returned to office as head of the Polish government and was presented as a political signal of Poland’s continued support for Ukraine following Russia’s full-scale invasion.
On Jan. 23, 2026, Polish President Karol Nawrocki said on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos that he planned to meet with Zelensky in the near future.
Nawrocki and Zelensky last met on Dec. 19, 2025, in Warsaw. That was also the last day that Zelensky met with Tusk.
