Metinvest Group has allocated UAH 8 billion to help Ukraine and its citizens since the start of the full-scale invasion, including UAH 4.4 billion for the army as part of the Steel Front military initiative. This is stated in the company’s press release.
“Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest has mobilized all resources to support the army, civilians, its employees and ensure the sustainability of the economy. We survived these 1,000 days of war thanks to the dedicated work of each of our employees. We managed not only to save the company but also to become a reliable rear for the country. And today our aspirations and actions remain unchanged – to do everything in our power to ensure Ukraine’s victory and its post-war recovery,” comments Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of the company.
Despite the shelling and occupation of some of its assets in Mariupol and Avdiivka, the Group’s enterprises continue to operate. The steel mills have reached 75% of their pre-war capacity utilization, and the mining and processing plants have increased their productivity to 52% due to the unblocking of the Black Sea ports and increased orders.
The company’s key contribution was to support the army. Metinvest donated 651 mobile shelters, more than 5,500 drones, 2,000 thermal imagers and 1.5 million liters of fuel. The company built 200 kilometers of fortifications and the first underground hospital for the Armed Forces, which can treat up to 100 patients a day.
Taking care of its employees, the company increased salaries, introduced bonuses and created safe working conditions. As part of its support for veterans, Metinvest is implementing a reintegration program that includes retraining, training and psychological assistance.
To support communities, the company invests in social infrastructure, repairing schools, hospitals and roads. The Saving Lives humanitarian initiative has helped more than 500,000 people, including affected women and children.
Metinvest is making plans for Ukraine’s post-war recovery by introducing sustainable construction and green transformation projects. The company remains one of the most reliable donors and partners in building Ukraine’s economy.
As GMK Center reported earlier, including associates and joint ventures, Metinvest increased its tax payments to the Ukrainian budget by 38% to over UAH 15 billion in 9M2024. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the company has allocated over UAH 7.5 billion to help Ukraine and its citizens, including over UAH 4 billion for the needs of the army as part of the Steel Front military initiative.
In 2023, Metinvest Group paid UAH 14.6 billion in taxes and duties to the budgets of all levels in Ukraine. The largest contributions included a single social contribution of UAH 3.3 billion, income tax of UAH 3.2 billion and personal income tax of over UAH 3 billion.
